Tips for taking care of engraved items

Caring for engraved items is relatively easy, as long as you take the proper steps.

Most engraved items will come stained, conditioned, and/or waxed with a top coat.

First, you need to make sure the item is clean and free from dust and dirt. You can do this with a soft, damp cloth and some mild soap. Be sure to rinse off any soap residue and then dry the item completely. You should also avoid using abrasives that could damage the engraving.

Next, you should use a soft cloth to polish or wax the item, using a beeswax/ carnauba wax or funiture polish for wood items, or a metal wax for metal items. This will help protect the item from scratches and wear and will add a glossy shine. Allow the wax to dry before buffing it with a soft cloth.

Finally, you should store your item in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or moisture. This will help to keep it looking good for years to come.
